As SALA continues to grow and strengthen its impact, we are pleased to share several leadership updates, including a new executive appointment, leadership elevations, succession developments, and structural enhancements within the organisation.
New Executive Appointment
It is with great pleasure that we introduce our sister, Philasande Mlatha, who joins the Executive Committee as our Deputy Executive Chairperson.
Sis Philasande hails from Lusikisiki and currently serves as a Technology Transfer and Innovation Professional at DUT. She holds a Master's degree in Chemistry, Materials Science and Reactor Engineering, with academic experience spanning South Africa, the Netherlands, and Spain. Afundile a MaMpondo 😭🙌
Beyond her professional achievements, she has already been contributing to various projects within SALA, demonstrating a strong commitment to our vision and mission.

Elevation and Succession
We are pleased to announce that Lwando Ndlamla has been elevated to the position of Flagstaff Regional CEO.
Following this elevation, Ongeziwe Simnyameni assumes the role of Co Group COO, serving alongside Gwiba Nonkenge as joint leaders of the Group COO Office.
Congratulations to all three leaders on these important developments. We look forward to the value and leadership you will continue to bring to the organisation.
Portfolio Expansion and Leadership Updates
As part of our ongoing organisational development, several enhancements have been made within our leadership structure.
Yamkela Gugwana has been appointed as Head of Institutions and will provide oversight across all institutional structures. All Heads of Institutions will report directly through this office.
We are also introducing the portfolio of Regional COOs. The occupants of these positions will work closely with the Group COO Office under the leadership of our two Co Group COOs, strengthening coordination and operational effectiveness across regions.
Leadership Title Updates
We are also pleased to announce a leadership title update.
Nosihle Lalemini and Mazii Bangani will now serve as Co Group CEOs, reflecting their shared leadership and continued commitment to advancing the organisation's vision and strategic objectives.
